Tax Time just passed us, giving good reason to revisit some of the tasks The Capts undertook in the Year of Our Lord 2010, some of the more eyebrow-raising being our interaction with one Paul DelVecchio né DJ Pauly D, dating back exactly twelve months as of now.
T’was during our stint as the authors of The Captains Log for Vegas Seven Magazine, the focus of which dealt with content within the context of DJing, so it was with a clean slate that we sat across from the burgeoning star of MTV’s Jersey Shore, late one Sunday eve, having made an executive decision to dispel with all preconceived notions — accurate or unfounded — and address Pauly D as if we were interviewing any number of nightlife fixtures.
As we wrapped up our tête-à-tête, Pauly D mentioned that I might appreciate experiencing a “Gentleman’s Blow-Out,” which is his signature hairstyle. I begged off, of course, but was soon swayed and consequently committed before we had left the conference room. On the ‘morrow…
As the sun set the next day, I arrived at his hotel suite, and we set to work, the proof of which can be observed in the video below. The clip speaks for itself, though I will mention that the same second this process was finished, as we debated whether this could be my “new look,” there was a knock at the door and a young woman marched in with a plate of fried chicken, prompting Pauly D to declare: “You see? You’re already getting chicks!”
