Across from Interscope Records in Santa Monica CA is a private venue called The Thom Thom Club. My understanding is that it’s maintained by the label to facilitate listening parties and smaller music biz soirees.

It also serves as a testing facility. With a state-of-the-art sound system, any artist who may be recording at the Interscope compund can simply pop over and witness what their track sounds like in a nightclub. What a useful tool!

I have DJed there a few times. And I have always been intrigued by this neon sign, which hangs in the DJ booth:

Who do you think “the DR” is? Yes, Interscope is the house that Dre built! And the sign is only to be illuminated when he steps behind the decks…

…except last night when I pulled the string so I could photograph it.
