This was too good to forget about. Enjoy a post from the past…
As some of you may or may not know, Graham Funke is a pretty good actor.
Citibank, Starbust, Reebok, and Dunkin Doughnuts are just a few of the companies who have confided in Graham’s mastery of performance in order carry on the legacy of their brands. Whether playing a mechanic, or rescuing a slew of women from the clutches of Arthur Fonzarelli, Graham always manages to emote “cool”.
After trailblazing through Hollywood and impressing multifarious casting agents, his decision to step down only left an insatiable taste for more, creating a demand for “a Graham Funke”.
In 2003, Hamilton Von Watts, patriarch of karaoke and film production, needed an actor to double as a seaman and a “whitey getting his swerve on” for an infomercial of a new product, Cold Pimpin. Who better to turn to than the Commander of Cool, Graham Funke.
Once assumed lost in the annals of cine, here is the infomercial for Cold Pimpin – The ghetto survival kit:
CAST
Hamilton Von Watts as The Host
Graham Funke as whitey getting his swerve on
Rhasaan Orange / Evan Brau as an African American
Steve Moreno and Tess Parker as couple playing dice
Additional Info:
-Steve Moreno starred in Crocdile 2: Death Swamp co-starring Martin Kove of The Karate Kid fame.
-Tess Parker was in Wonderland as the girl who is spellbound by John Holmes “member” and asks to touch it.
As you can see here, Graham was a natural choice for the role as he embodied the qualities of a mariner as well as a person who religiously turns to Cold Pimpin for daily fashion inspiration.
