About Us
While the term "DJ" becomes increasingly misappropriated, StoneRokk and Graham Funke have embarked upon a mission to restore some of the fun and return some of the luster to the craft. With creative programming, a master display of technique, and a strong opinion, they hope to dispel the celebutants and new-jack wannabes that have inundated both the nightlife community and the media at large.Mixes

As death is a natural part of life, and something I know is either just over the horizon or just around the corner, I rarely get hung up on it. When celebrities or notables pass, it’s not something I dwell … Continue reading

Après Calendar
Again, the December artwork was my fave, as it is the most realistic portrayal of The Capts’ life, mingling with armed Yetis and what-have-you, StoneRokk blowing away on his Alphorn to pass the time. For myself, I conjured two strong … Continue reading

12 Months of The Capts – December
The November illustration represents Black Friday if one were to shop at a place like Harrods of London, operated by The Capts. If you haven’t been to Harrods before, it is full of a wide array of items, from the … Continue reading

Some months back, I played some records at Carnaval in Pomona. The two disc jocks that worked with me that night were Eddie Boy and E-Kid, a couple of DJs that The Capts had met while playing at Jet (now … Continue reading

12 Months of The Capts – November
I am scared of heights; it’s actually the only thing I’m scared of. I don’t get shook from snakes or beasts or even ghosts, like my friend DJ Five who refuses to sleep at the infamous Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee … Continue reading

12 Months of The Capts – October
Fans of the Hammer Films probably enjoyed the September illustration the most, and as The Capts are fans themselves, it was a joy to see this one manifest. Many people associate Christopher Lee with the latter Star Wars movies, but … Continue reading

12 Months of The Capts – September
Obviously, The Capts lost a day in the ongoing posting of the 2012 calendar illustrations, but there was a good reason. Upon completing a joyous and celebratory New Years Eve at RokBar in Las Vegas, we decided to find our … Continue reading
